Following the success of the Algorand Asia Accelerator, the Algorand Foundation has set its sights on Europe to encourage blockchain development in the region. In partnership with Borderless Capital and Eterna Capital, the Algorand Europe Accelerator (AEA) is a 12-week Acceleration initiative dedicated to the development and funding of start-ups that scale decentralized applications (DApps) atop Algorand’s pure proof-of-stake blockchain, with a main focus on Europe. Algorand Europe Accelerator is the first European start-up accelerator for developers and entrepreneurs building on the Algorand blockchain. Selected projects will receive EUR €15,000 upfront seed funding with the potential of up to USD $500,000 in follow-on investment. The 12 week program provides 360-degree support including technical expertise, strategy formulation, go-to-market execution, a distinguished mentor and corporate network, and a global demo day.

Algorand Europe Accelerator launched in October 2020 and finished in April 2021, culminating in the 11 finalist start-ups presenting their project pitches among 200 applicants. For the duration of 12 weeks, The AEA provided end-to-end support across the spectrum of strategy formulation, go-to-market execution, and subject matter guidance across technological mentorship, token economics, marketing and fundraising. The Algorand Europe Accelerator also onboarded mentors distinguished in various fields and disciplines from companies like Coinbase, Generali, AWS, BBVA, Winklevoss Capital and many more.
